16-year-old killed in west Toledo shooting

TOLEDO, Ohio — It’s an unfortunate trend from 2022 that has carried into this year. Toledo Police are now investigating the shooting death of a teen that occurred overnight.

It happened here in the 3200th block of Downing Avenue near The University of Toledo. Officers were dispatched on the report of a person shot. According to a press release from TPD, officers arrived and located the 16-year-old victim, inside a residence, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. They were pronounced dead on scene.
