TOLEDO, Ohio — In a day and age where youth in the city of Toledo are being lost to gun violence, two local motorcycle clubs are bringing the peace.
Starting at Sleepy Hollow Park in west Toledo, riders took to the Frederick Douglass Community Center, for a day of festivities. The ride’s organizer tells me that this is their first event, as they’ve had enough of the killing.
“Today’s event is to stop the gun violence, stop killing our kids, try to keep it peaceful and enjoy the day as we go on,” explained Anessa Jordan, the organizer.
Jordan, who lives in Columbus but is originally from Toledo, says that riders will also be helping out the city’s homeless community today.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Multiple crashes this afternoon resulted in large backups across the Glass City.
We start with an incident on I-475 near Maumee, which had traffic backed-up for a few miles. OHGO had reported delays of up to 11 minutes.
Then, to the north in Sylvania, a crash caused delays on US-23 southbound. With police on scene, delays were reported as drivers crossed in Ohio.
Finally, over in north Toledo, the left lane was blocked on I-75 North, from I-280 South to Ottawa River Road, due to a crash there.
