TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Zoo has relied on the community’s support since the beginning, now it’s asking for less.
Issue 3 would cost the owner of a $100,000 home $17.81 per year, a reduction of $3.06 per year (15%). Additionally, the levy accounts for about 16% of the zoo’s annual operating budget, and according to the zoo, the economic impact of this reduction could be up to $73 million on Northwest Ohio, a 173% return on investment.
