Bittersweet Farms hosting “Market & Merry” holiday shopping event
The event will only be held twice, including on Saturday.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Saturday, Bittersweet Farms is hosting “Market & Merry”, a pop-up holiday shopping event at their farm in Whitehouse, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Art, cookies, produce, and merchandise will be available for sale exclusively at the event. Each item was handcrafted by Bittersweet Farms participants, and every purchase supports their paid employment and the farm’s mission. There will only be in-person shopping, while supplies last.
“We service adults and adolescents with autism. So, we have residential housing out here in Whitehouse, as well as in Pemberville — we have 3 locations. One in Pemberville, one in Lima, one in Whitehouse. And then we offer day program services where adults and adolescents with autism can come out to the farm and actually work on the farm,” said Julie Champa, development director of Bittersweet Farms.
This event will be held again on Thursday, December 16th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
