Bomb threat prompts chaos at FLL Intl’ Airport

The airport was cleared around 5 p.m. today.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — A ‘security threat’ at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport prompted an abrupt sweep of airport terminals early this morning, after a bomb threat was discovered. The circumstances leading up to the discovery of the bomb threat are unknown.

Within the 5:30 half-hour, travelers were able to retrieve bags and other items. Once the announcement was made, they could be heard clapping in relief.
