City of LA celebrates Super Bowl victory in the streets
There was no shortage of excitement in SoCal!
LOS ANGELES — The LA Rams are victorious in this year’s Super Bowl, but Cincinnati’s Bengals put up a great fight.
Here in LA, the energy is contagious, with many Rams fans celebrating their Super Bowl 56 victory, while Bengals fans congratulate the team on what was a hard fought battle. To put things into perspective, it has been 34 years since the team last made an appearance in the Super Bowl, so making it to LA was an accomplishment in itself.
The game ended with a 23-20 victory and regardless of what team you stand with, the facts are that Super Bowl 56 started slow, but quickly became a game that had many anxious and glued to the TV.
“We never lost faith in them the whole season, and to see what they just did, is just amazing,” Rams fan Daniel Palma told KCBS.
Despite the outcome, there was a lot of pride awaiting the Bengals when they made their return to the Queen City, with many writing tweets of congratulations and pride for how well the team performed. Even before the coin drop at LA’s SoFi Stadium, bars and restaurants throughout the city and state were packed with eager fans waiting to see their team compete on the biggest stage in professional sports.
“It was a bad beat in the end, but we had chances. Love the team, love what they’ve done with the team. I think next year’s looking good,” a Bengals fan told WCPO.
That same energy can be felt in Southern California, where fans celebrated throughout the night and into the early morning hours.
A celebratory parade is planned for Wednesday.
