City of Toledo announces details of annual neighborhood beautification contest

The contest aims to promote clean, safe neighborhoods.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Today, Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz and Department of Neighborhoods Director Rosalyn Clemens held a news conference to announce the details of this year’s Toledo Annual Neighborhood Beautification Contest.

Individual residents, neighborhood blocks, small businesses, and nominated homes whose properties reflect community pride will receive recognition from the mayor and Toledo City Council under the new program, as well as a plaque. 2 small businesses, 2 blocks, 3 houses, and 2 nominated houses will be selected as winners in each council district. Contest details can be found at toledo.oh.gov/neighborhood-contest. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m., August 30.
