City of Toledo announces summer meal program, Good Grub Social Club
The program will continue for 13 weeks.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Monday, the city of Toledo announced a new summer meal program, Good Grub Social Club. 10 local parks will serve as hubs for the new, free program that requires no registration, but provides kids the opportunity to eat a nutritious meal, while participating in enriching programming provided by the Imagination Station, Toledo GROWs, Toledo School for the Arts, as well as boxing.
“We want them to have great experiences and wonderful memories and make friends, get out and get exercise, learn a skill; if they want, there are jobs to be had,” said Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz.
“Our kids got hit the worst. So, when we talk about COVID and how it our school systems, we talk about how it hit them hard,” said Councilmember Vanice Williams (D-4).
