City of Toledo: “Nearly 30,000 Masks and 6,000 Gloves to be Distributed Today”

According to a media release from the City of Toledo, the city Neighborhoods Department will be distributing almost 30,000 disposable face masks and about 6,000 gloves today.

“The cost of the masks and gloves will be reimbursed to the city with Community Development Block Grant Funding. There is an urgent need for masks and gloves in our community, and for the organizations that have requested assistance. We will be safely distributing these supplies so they can be used to help flatten the curve and fight the spread of COVID-19.”

Says Monica L. Smith a neighborhood navigator who works with the city, according to the release.

That amount of 36,000 PPE will go to the following community organizations:

Connecting Kids to Meals

First Church

Toledo Community Coalition

Greater Grace Church

Groomed Barbershop

Jerusalem Baptist Church

Junction Coalition

Lucas County Children Services

Macedonia Baptist Church Neighborhood Health Association

New Eureka Baptist Church

New Hope Baptist Church of Toledo
