City of Toledo provides update regarding July 2nd fireworks display

The display was initially cancelled until a new vendor was found.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The city of Toledo’s Independence Day fireworks display will begin at approximately 10 p.m., Friday, July 2 from International Park.

Promenade Park, Glass City Metropark, Middlegrounds Metropark, and other areas along the Maumee River downtown and in East Toledo will offer some of the best views of the fireworks display. Spectators are advised to arrive by at least 9 p.m.

Food trucks will begin service at 5 p.m. in Promenade Park and Glass City Metropark. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and the VProject will be providing COVID-19 vaccinations in Promenade Park from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and in Glass City Metropark from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge, Jefferson Avenue, Adams Street, and Jackson Street from North St. Clair Street to Summit Street, Summit Street from Cherry Street to Washington Street, and Monroe Street from North Superior Street to Summit Street will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 9 p.m. until the display concludes and spectators have dispersed. Front Street from Main Street to East Broadway will be closed beginning at 9:45 p.m.

All downtown parking lots and garages will be open on the night of the display. Metered street parking is free after 6 p.m.
