Event held Saturday provides community with free COVID vaccines
The Christmas Extravaganza was held at the Wayman D. Palmer YMCA in Toledo and broughout hundreds out for family fun, as well as COVID-19 vaccines.
TOLEDO, Ohio — There was a long line for vaccines at the Christmas Extravaganza, an event that was held today at the Wayman D. Palmer Community YMCA in Toledo. There were also activities for kids and families, food trucks, and vendors from local organizations.
The goal of the event was to get members of the community vaccinated against COVID-19, as the Omicron variant continues to spread across the country. Tina Butts of The Movement, organizer of today’s event, says it was good seeing kids push their parents to get vaccinated.
She also says a lot of work went into preparing for this event, which brought the community out in droves.
My full interview with Butts, Sunday at 11 a.m. on Community Focus, which airs on my YouTube page.
