Fatal accident causes delays on I-280 Wednesday morning

TOLEDO, Ohio — A fatal accident this morning on I-280 — south of Front Street — resulted in a backup just before 7:30, as the school and work commute got underway.

According to Toledo Police, a semi stopped on the right side of southbound 280 — near the Front Street exit ramp — was struck from behind by a silver sedan. Two of the occupants in that vehicle were killed and the semi driver was uninjured, the police report stated.

An investigation is underway.
