FDA panel to discuss approval of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 5–11
Young kids may soon be able to protected against COVID-19 in the classroom.
TOLEDO, Ohio — An FDA panel is set to discuss the possibility of the FDA approving Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 5–11. The FDA’s advisory committee is set to meet on the 14th and the 15th, as Pfizer is expected to request emergency use authorization of their pediatric vaccine next week, the New York Times reports.
Locally, the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department has announced that COVID-19 booster shots are now available at the Lucas County Rec Center in Maumee.
The clinic’s hours are Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The health department is accepting walk-ins, although they’d much prefer you schedule an appointment.
