As Officer Stalker’s funeral takes place, here’s what you need to know.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Tuesday morning, the funeral for fallen Toledo Police officer Brandon Stalker will take place, and before and after the funeral takes place, there will be congestion, as well as the opportunity for the community to line the streets in support of those mourning his loss.
The procession route for Officer Brandon Stalker has been released by TPD. Road closures will begin around 6 a.m. and continue into the late afternoon. The department says to expect delays. If you want to show your support, TPD asks that you begin to line the route at 12 p.m.
The funeral service will be streamed live by 13abc, although the ceremony at Toledo Memorial Park is closed to media, as well as the public.
How the community is showing their support
Saturday afternoon, members of the community came together to support the family of Officer Brandon Stalker, who was shot and killed during a standoff in Central Toledo. Plus, a local boy starts a hot cocoa stand to raise money for the fallen officer’s family.
Toledo Police Officer Brandon Stalker, 24, was shot and killed on the night of January 18th, while on the scene of a barricaded gunman. On Tuesday night (Jan. 19), friends, family and strangers paid their respects to the late Officer Brandon Stalker at Whitmer High School, where he graduated.
