Gov. DeWine to hold special COVID-19 briefing

Normally, the governor would speak on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Gov. Mike DeWine will hold a special COVID-19 briefing today at 2 p.m. due to rising cases, hospitalizations and deaths.

Representatives of the Cleveland Clinic, the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Mercy Health and the University of Cincinnati Health are expected to speak as hospitals fill with COVID patients and employees call out sick.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, the state’s COVID-19 infection rate is approximately 13.5%.
