Kapszukiewicz to visit Washington for roundtable discussion

The visit will be made Friday.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz has been invited to attend a roundtable discussion at the White House on Friday, to discuss how Toledo is using funds from the American Rescue Plan to promote public safety.

The meeting will be held in the West Wing with President Joe Biden and Susan Rice, director of the Domestic Policy Council.

The invitation from the White House came yesterday as the mayor was preparing to deliver his ‘State of the City’ address at Glass City Metropark. Kapszukiewicz will fly to Washington tomorrow morning and return to Toledo in the evening.

The meeting won’t allow him to attend a fundraising luncheon for the United Negro College Fund, which begins at 11:30 a.m. at the University of Toledo. In his absence, the mayor will send-in a video message.
