List: Cooling centers open across Northwest Ohio

The extreme heat is just beginning — and will only get worse, which is why our local agencies stand prepared to keep the most vulnerable of our population safe.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The City of Toledo has partnered with Lucas County, the Lucas County EMA, Toledo Fire and Rescue Department, Toledo Police Department, Toledo Lucas County Public Library, Area Office on Aging, Ability Center, TARTA, United Way 211, and Toledo Lucas County Homelessness Board to coordinate a safety response to the extreme heat expected this week.

The latest forecast calls for extreme heat from today through Thursday. So during that time, Lucas County residents can visit toledo.oh.gov/warm-weather for updates on cooling shelters. Using the map, you can enter your location to search for the nearest cooling shelter available.
