Lucas County educators to soon receive 2nd vaccine dose
Governor Mike DeWine sees vaccinating educators as a priority in order to get most students back to in-person instruction by March 1st.
TOLEDO, Ohio — In the coming days, many Lucas County educators who received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine a couple weeks ago, will receive their second dose next week. This is all part of Governor Mike DeWine’s phased approach to getting most students back into the classroom, by March 1st. Although that’s the goal, some schools say it’ll be a few days over that deadline, to the point where most students are receiving in-person instruction.
While those educators prepare to receive their second vaccine dose, many elderly Ohioans are struggling to schedule their first vaccine dose.
For their loved ones, it’s an even greater challenge, which normally involves consistency, and constantly, refreshing the health department’s website for available appointment times, dates and clinic locations.
With concern over new strains of the virus, the race to vaccinate grows more crucial. WKRC-TV in Cincinnati reports the UK COVID-19 variant has been discovered in Hamilton County, following a positive COVID test result.
