Lucas County to celebrate opening of new shared services building

The facility puts multiple county services in one place.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Tuesday, the Lucas County Commissioners will celebrate the opening of a new shared services facility, located at 3737 Sylvania Ave. The dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. The building is the former Medical Mutual building.

The building will host the operations of the County offices of Job and Family Services, Child Support Enforcement Agency, OhioMeansJobs Lucas County, and Planning and Development to provide convenience for customers and create greater efficiencies in the services offered by the agencies.

Next year, the Lucas County Board of Elections will relocate its offices and the Early Voting Center, which is currently housed at 1301 Monroe St., to the new Sylvania Avenue location.

The building will officially open to the public on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
