Lutheran Social Services receives proclamation from the city of Toledo
The organization has spent over a century serving our community.
TOLEDO, Ohio — This morning, Lutheran Social Services, a local, Christian organization that serves as a food pantry to those in need, received a proclamation from the city of Toledo recognizing their vital work in our community. Those with the organization say they had to adapt to the ongoing pandemic, providing pre-packaged meals to those who need them, instead of allowing their clients to browse the aisles of their basement pantry. In order to benefit from the organization and its services, clients simply have to provide a photo ID.
Terri Roduriguez, President and CEO of Lutheran Social Services, says this honor means a lot to her and the organization’s volunteers, as they have not stopped serving the community — even amid the pandemic.
“This is a wonderful tribute to the work of our staff, not only the work they’ve accomplished today, but every single day. For more than 100 years, we’ve been part of the Toledo community and it’s just such a wonderful thing.”
