Mission: Education | Fall programming in the city of Toledo
TOLEDO, Ohio — It has been a busy few weeks for those involved in the City of Toledo’s summer youth programs. Many think that these programs just end with the summer season, but Daveion Beach with the city tells me that’s not the case.
“During the summer, we’ve offered over a hundred programs and so, now, during the school year, everyone’s going back to school, so we have to condense it just a little bit. But we hope that the kids are going to be out in the same way,” Beach said.
Beach says the unique, engaging, and interactive programs that brought youth out during the summer will continue in the fall.
“Working on podcasting and media and branding themselves as influencers, so that was really cool, there’s also going to be a program where they’re going to be making their own shoes, their own sneakers, so that’s going to be really exciting, as well,” he added.
He says the response has been great, and that there are simply too many partners to name that have made the city’s efforts so successful.
