Secor Road Resurfacing project (Jaden Jefferson)

TOLEDO, Ohio — The northbound lanes of Secor Road from Bancroft to Kenwood will undergo resurfacing, after the southbound lanes were resurfaced in June. The reason this work is just now being done is because the southbound lanes fall within the village of Ottawa Hills and the northbound lanes fall within the Toledo city limits.

Initially, the city of Toledo didn’t have plans to resurface the other side of Secor, but that just changed after years of complaints about the street being too narrow and in bad shape. Plans to widen the street and destroy a dozen homes to make that possible were shot down and no work has occurred on the street since June.

To detour, take Bancroft to Densmore Drive to Kenwood Boulevard. The road will be closed beginning Monday and last for five days, with work ending on Saturday.
