Observing “International Year of Glass Day” in the Glass City!

Earlier this year, the United Nations declared 2022 the “International Year of Glass”, so it only makes sense to take that concept and localize it!

TOLEDO, Ohio — Monday at the Libbey Glass Toledo Factory & Distribution Center in Toledo’s north end, Toledo’s mayor, Lucas County Commissioner Tina Skeldon-Wozniak, and others from around the region declared today “International Year of Glass Day.”

Proclamations from the cities of Toledo and Rossford, as well as one from Congressman Bob Latta (R) OH-5, were presented to mark the occasion. Libbey Glass CEO Mike Bauer says the contributions of glass can’t go unnoticed. From providing natural light in the form of windows to a reusable, recyclable alternative.
