TOLEDO, Ohio — Ohio Governor Mike DeWine responded to Tuesday’s debate by saying: “The debate itself was certainly not our country’s finest hour…” and that the name-calling was inappropriate. He says he will support President Trump, but knows Joe Biden wants what’s best for the country.
“As Ohioans, we were certainly very proud to host this debate. However, the debate itself was not our country’s finest hour or our country’s finest 90 minutes.” — Governor Mike DeWine
The governor also responded to the president’s comments on white supremacy and his refusal to denounce white supremacists.
“There are fringe groups and individuals in this country — on both the right and the left — who simply do not share our common values,” DeWine said. “There is no place in this great country for that.”
