‘Operation Santa Sleigh’ to take place Wednesday

Local agencies are inviting you to help them lift the spirits of hospitalized kids this holiday season.

TOLEDO, Ohio — ‘Operation Santa Sleigh’ is a statewide event led by Light Ohio Blue, the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, the Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association, Ohio State Highway Patrol, the International Association of Firefighters, the State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police and Santa’s Hide-A-Way Village.

The event will consist of police and fire agencies putting on a caravan light show for all of Ohio’s children’s hospitals and two state veteran homes to spread holiday cheer. The event is solely comprised of members from public safety agencies, many who are off duty, with the desire to spread the holiday spirit. Wednesday, December 23rd at 8:00 p.m., a caravan will take place for kids being treated at ProMedica Russell J. Ebeid Children’s Hospital to spread holiday cheer.

Everyone is invited to take part in the COVID-19-safe event.
