TOLEDO, Ohio — Following the 4th of July holiday, many are planning vacations after being stuck in the house for an extended period of time, but how can you be sure you’re playing it safe while traveling? Well, here are some tips to ensure you don’t end up contracting or spreading COVID-19, the Delta variant in particular.

Health experts say even if you’re fully vaccinated, it’s still important to carry a face mask with you at all times, especially on planes, because masks are still required and with the growing threat of COVID-19 variants. The Delta variant is set to become the dominant strain in the U.S., but as of right now, our vaccines do protect against variants, but it’s better to be safe than sorry, as no vaccine is 100%.

When flying, it makes sense to bring antibacterial wipes to clean arm rests and seats, which aren’t always thoroughly disinfected. Throughout the pandemic, you may have relied heavily on hand sanitizers and you might want to do the same on flights. There are many types of bacteria that can be found on planes and hand sanitizers do make the slightest difference when it comes to protecting you from getting sick.
