President Trump Hospitalized At Walter Reed Medical Center
The president and first lady tested positive for coronavirus yesterday and there is reason to be concerned for President Trump, according to health experts.
WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus. World leaders, governors and political leaders in Washington, D.C. are sending the president and first lady their best wishes.
Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence tested negative following President Trump’s coronavirus diagnosis.
“We discovered that right as Marine One was taking off yesterday,” said Mark Meadows, White House Chief of Staff on when it was learned that Hope Hicks had tested positive for coronavirus. He also confirmed a report on Pres. Trump, saying: “The president does have mild symptoms.”
“This is a powerful reminder to us that we have to do the basic things. We have to wear masks. We have to social distance. We have to be careful. We have to avoid big crowds,” Ohio Governor Mike DeWine said earlier today, after President Trump tested positive for coronavirus. “If you’ve been in a big crowd, you should get tested. We wish you would not be in a big crowd,” he also said.
A White House doctor says President Trump received an experimental antibody cocktail, after his COVID-19 diagnosis, before heading to Walter Reed Medical Center.
“I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support. I’m going to Walter Reed Hospital. I think I’m doing very well. We’re going to make sure that things work out. The first lady is doing very well. So thank you very much, I appreciate it. I will never forget it. Thank you.” — President Trump, during pre-recorded message to the American people.
The Trump campaign says all events featuring President Trump and his family have been postponed after the president’s COVID-19 diagnosis. Vice President Mike Pence will continue campaigning on behalf of the Trumps.
The Biden campaign now says Democratic Nominee Joe Biden will continue to campaign with coronavirus safety precautions in place and will also pull all negative ads about the president out of respect.
As of right now, Vice President Mike Pence has not received the powers of the president.
According to health experts, with the president being 74, obese with a BMI of 30 and a male, he’s more at risk to suffer from the severe complications that come with the coronavirus. He’s showing “mild” symptoms, according to the White House.
