Savage Park up for highly-competitive National Parks Service grant
The city will be hosting a public meeting, so residents have the opportunity to decide what the city does with the $1 million grant — if it’s selected.
TOLEDO, Ohio — The power of a grant. For nonprofits, it’s a way to grow their impact on a community. And for the city of Toledo, it’s an opportunity to improve the experience of residents.
A specific example is Rev. H.V. Savage Park, just outside of downtown Toledo. The city of Toledo announced last week that the City of Toledo Department of Parks and Youth Services will be pursuing a $1 million National Parks Service grant.
The city is holding a public meeting to gather feedback from the community on what changes or additions they would like to see at the park to enhance their experience. The city says that robust turnout from the community will help staff produce a strong application for what they call a “highly competitive grant.”
The meeting will be held Wednesday at Savage Park on Nebraska Avenue, from 4 to 6 p.m.
