Solheim Cup 2021 Schedule of Events: What you can expect
Tournament week will be a big week for the glass city!
TOLEDO, Ohio — The 2021 Solheim Cup kicks off next week and will put the international spotlight on Toledo, as Team USA and Team Europe compete for the Solheim Cup at the Inverness Club in West Toledo. Each day, there will be a set of events, from a celebrity scramble to a Friday concert at Promenade Park in downtown Toledo, featuring recording artist Gwen Stefani. Here’s a breakdown of the week’s events:
Tuesday, August 31st: Military Appreciation Day will feature a series of events surrounding the golf tournament, including practice sessions for Team USA and Team Europe, a women’s summit at the Stranahan Theater & Great Hall, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Solheim After Sundown, downtown at Hensville, from 6 to 9 p.m., and the PING Jr. Solheim Cup Opening Ceremony at the Sylvania Country Club. Gates close at 4 p.m.
Wednesday, September 2nd: Wednesday will be a day of celebrities, Olympic athletes, NBA, NHL, and NFL players and more for the BMV Celebrity Math at the Inverness Club, beginning at 2 p.m. at the 10th tee.
Friday: September 3rd: If you’re looking for music and fun, you may want to make your way downtown to Promenade Park for Fan Fest, sponsored by ProMedica, featuring a Gwen Stefani concert at 8:30 p.m., as well as the 2021 Solheim Cup opening ceremony, which kicks off at 5 p.m. and ends at 6 p.m.
Saturday, September 4th and Sunday, September 5th: The weekend of tournament week will be packed full of game play, airing live on Golf Channel from 7:30 to noon, NBC from noon to 1:30 and Golf Channel, again from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m.
Monday, September 6th: Gates open at 9 a.m. on Monday, which will conclude the golf tournament. 12 singles matches will take place in the morning, with live coverage airing on Golf Channel, beginning at noon, and ending at 6:00 p.m. The closing ceremony will take place at the 1st and 10th tees.
