Sports: Team Europe takes early lead in 2021 Solheim Cup
Team USA is confident in their ability to pull off a defeat against Team Europe.
TOLEDO, Ohio — Saturday, Team Europe took an early lead in the 2021 Solheim Cup, as Team USA’s support grew louder at the Inverness Club in West Toledo.
Matilda Castren of Team Europe says she’s confident in her team’s ability to communicate and get the job done.
“I was nervous on the first tee even though I didn’t have to hit the first shot. I’m glad Anna had me covered there. She was a huge help today and is an awesome player. I really trust her,” said Matilda Castren of Team Europe.
Meanwhile, Team USA Captain Pat Hearst says the match was close in the early morning, making her confident that the team could pull off a win.
“We’re leaving on a good note tonight. And so, we’re looking forward to playing tomorrow. Like I said, it was pretty close in the morning. So, we’re looking to see how it’s going to be in the morning,” said Pat Hearst, Captain of Team USA.
