TFRD to reshape recruitment process in coordination with agency
The recruitment effort will continue through the fall.

TOLEDO, Ohio — This morning, the Toledo Fire & Rescue Department held an event announcing their partnership with Voxhub for the recruitment of additional staff for the fire academy. With this new partnership, the department aims to modernize their current recruitment process through social media, by promoting opportunities within the ranks of TFRD.
Chief Brian Byrd tells me that with an already understaffed department, the recruitment process is all the more important, as some current staff look to retire from the field.
“We had always intended on hiring more classes, so that part hasn’t changed. What this does is it gives us the ability to be more efficient with how we bring qualified people to the table,” Byrd said.
