TOLEDO, Ohio — The Toledo Police Department has released a statement regarding an officer-involved shooting, which took place Thursday night around 11 p.m. Police say they responded to a double homicide on Albion Rd., which led them to the Weiler Homes, where a suspect was located in the victim’s car — holding a gun to his head.

From there, Toledo Police say officers eventually shot the suspect and he later died at a local hospital. The officers who fired their weapons will be placed on administrative leave, per the department’s collective bargaining agreement.

Additional information about the officers involved, as well as body and dash camera video, will be released at a news conference in the near future.
