TOLEDO, Ohio — Today, leaders from across the public and private sectors in Lucas County gathered for a “topping-out” ceremony at the future site of a renovated SeaGate Convention Centre, which will soon be rebranded as the Glass City Convention and Event Center.

Officials say this project is only a small part of the city’s major renaissance, which will significantly benefit local businesses. According to the county, local businesses, in total, should expect to benefit from ¾ of a billion dollars due to the large crowds this renovated convention center can and will host.

Leaders also thanked the hardworking iron and trade workers that have dedicated long hours to ensure this project is completed by its August 2022 deadline.

County officials say this project has been over a decade in the making, and to see what was once an idea come to fruition is a great thing for the city.
