TOLEDO, Ohio — According to an ODOT press release, work to repair the Craig Memorial bridge’s electrical system is under way, but not all parts needed to repair and reopen the bridge are on site.

Here’s the latest.

The drawbridge has remained in the ‘up’ position since Monday of last week, when an electrical component became overloaded and melted when the bridge was raised to allow a boat to pass. The bridge was then not able to be lowered.

The contractor, U.S. Utility Contractor, Inc. of Perrysburg, was able to secure most of the needed parts and began repair work Wednesday. If the remaining part is secured, estimates are that the bridge could be repaired and opened sometime this weekend or early next week.
