TOLEDO, Ohio — In Maumee, some major upgrades are being made to I-475, but if you traverse the area frequently — you already know.

Northbound I-475 traffic has been moved to temporary lanes, just north of the Maumee River, before US-24. The switch occurred last Friday. Traffic will proceed adjacent to southbound traffic, separated by a barrier wall. Traffic will remain in this configuration for most of 2023.

And following what was a weekend of closures on I-475, the ramp from westbound US-24 to northbound I-475 will remain closed for one year. Detour by taking westbound US-24 to the southbound I-475 on-ramp to eastbound US-24 to the northbound I-475 on-ramp.

If you’re in need of an alternate detour, take westbound US-24 to Fallen Timbers Ln. to eastbound US-24 to northbound I-475.

Finally, the posted speed limit within this active construction zone is 50mph. ODOT asks that you protect the safety of all their employees by abiding by the legally posted speed limit.
