TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo’s research enterprise is growing as research dollars for the 2021 fiscal year will total more than $65 million, an 18.3% increase in one year and 70% higher than research awards five years ago.

The UToledo College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics saw the steepest increase, with its researchers earning $24.2 million in research funding, up 18% compared to fiscal year 2020 and up 52.8% compared to fiscal year 2019.

This all comes as the university’s water task force will provide local, state and federal officials with an update on its water quality and human health research during a special meeting from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, in Nitschke Hall Room 1027.
