University of Toledo to host COVID-19 town hall with local experts

TOLEDO, Ohio — The University of Toledo will host public health officials from across northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan for a virtual town hall discussion on the COVID-19 pandemic Tuesday, May 25.

The public event is free and will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. via Webex. Registration is required.

In addition to answering questions from the audience, the expert panel will provide the latest information about COVID-19, discuss the local pandemic response and vaccination for children.

Panelists include Dr. Joan Duggan, Infectious Disease Specialist and Professor of medicine; Dr. Jason Huntley, Associate Professor of Medical Microbiology and immunology; and Dr. Russell Smith, Chief Pharmacy Officer at The University of Toledo Medical Center.

The town hall will be the fifth in a series of COVID-19 community discussions hosted by the University of Toledo Foundation.

Dr. Christopher Cooper, dean of the College of Medicine and Life Sciences and executive vice president for clinical affairs, will lead the discussion.
